St-Denis Cathedral – Part I
Located well outside the Boulevard Pèriphèrique, the St-Denis Cathedral is a bit of a hike. More accurately ~ a long metro ride – but one that is well worth it. It is not a whole day trip, but a good part of one by the time you get there, enjoy exploring the cathedral and get back into Paris proper.
I’ll split this post into a few days because there are just so many wonderful photos to share. Many kings, queens & royalty are buried here in this shrine to the patron saint of France. If you click here you can find links to more information about St-Denis Cathedral. I will not attempt to be a tour guide, but to show you some of what I saw.
I’m not sure why I did not photograph the entire façade other than it was a drizzling, cold day, but I do recall that the cathedral is in serious need of cleaning.

Lots of neat things on the outside…

…but I was cold, so I hustled inside…wow…

More soon….

Fascinating photos! All so well-done – I feel like I’m there.
Nice photos … never been anywhere near here, but maybe I should? I will wait for the next installment!
Gorgeous shots! The cathedral is absolutely breath-taking.
Wow.
Impressive. I love the one of the stairway and arches up there. I’ve been wondering, too — what kind of camera do you use?
I really should try to go to Saint-Denis!
