Let’s go to the Louvre

11/06/2010

I woke up this morning wanting to go to The Louvre.  However, since it is an ocean away, I will have to be satisfied with this virtual visit.

I want to wander the endless exhibit halls…

Oooohing and Ahhhing over beautiful treasures…

Peaking out of windows for those unexpected glimpses of more fascinating art….

…or just a nice view…

…and I mustn’t forget to look up now and again…

…or I’ll miss some truly breath-taking things…

…and I will puzzle over this painting all the way home… kinda scary, non?  I think I’d be running too…

What lovely photos of the Louvre. I think it’s awesome how we are allowed to photograph the inside of this gorgeous museum, unlike at other museums around the world. Your photos are so telling; they help bring those who are also oceans away closer to the magnificent treasures inside of this fabulous museum in Paris. Thank you for sharing. I am happy to say I’ve been there twice – once in real life and now again on your blog!

That is indeed, one of… the weirdest paintings I’ve ever seen! That saint looks like someone blew him up like a balloon and let him go! I hope that headgear he’s got on is strong coz it looks like he’s about half a second away from a full-on collision with a wall. You don’t happen to know what happened next, do you?

I feel like I’ve been on an outing to Le Louvre via your lovely pics ~ I love that fact that we are now able to photograph in a lot of the Museums & Galleries in Paris. My sister & I spent many hours in the Musee D’Orsay where there seemed to be no restrictions what-so-ever on photographing the lovely art-works.
    Thanks for the visit.

Beautiful pictures! Makes me regret not going to the Louvre yesterday when it was free (first Sunday of the month and all…). Thanks for the virtual visit!
